¡¡ It is important to first find a topic that has a clear cause and effect relationship. As a writer, your primary task is to convince the reader that the cause leads to the effect. There are two main ways to explain cause and effect in an essay. 1 Focus on the cause. This method focuses mainly on the causes of the problem. This essay raises the question: ¡°Why does something happen? Oil prices are increasing: Cause - We use too much energy – For example: We make too many products; we drive too many cars; we use too much heat in winter; we use too many air conditioners in summer. Demand is high and the effect is rising prices. 2 Focus on the effect. This method focuses mainly on the effects of the problem. This essay raises the question: ¡°What happens when ¡¦ ?¡± Oil supply decreases: Effects – Prices increase; production decreases; war to control supply starts; chaos threatens; work on alternative energy increases.
In the conclusion: Restate the thesis / answer a question if raised. Some opinion is OK but not too much. |
